Just a note

Hello all,

I’m back from Terengganu, our last tour performance. I will upload the stories Part 2 and 3 very soon. Just hope you be patient, and all would be well. I have a last minute show at Istana Budaya tomorrow night at about 11pm, in conjunction with New Year’s Eve. I was pretty…sad. Cause I had plans with Kim and everyone, to have a New Year’s Eve dinner tomorrow night and it’s not going to come true, at least not for me. Sigh. I’m missing out on so much now, I think I can almost cry. :( I’m really sorry guys (Kim, Dev, Sophia, Shin, everyone). I really hope I’m with you guys instead. But God says otherwise. :( Sigh.

Late Night Show with Loony Zoony!

This is a special post, made up by my Grandpa Daryl. We both think it might be good to loosen up you stressed people out there, and also just for a kick of humour (That’s if, you have any). Oh, and the end of this post, is made up by yours truly. Haha.

*opening music playing in the background*

“Live with….Loony Zoony!”

Tonight, we have a special guest, brought in by Grandpa Daryl. He is Big Chief Wanakissalot! *a round of applause*

Big Chief WanaKissALot is Grandpa Daryl’s Red Indian friend. He likes to jump into Grandpa’s conversation every time Grandpa’s not around. And every time Grandpa tells him to stop it, Big Chief WanaKissALot would say “So Sioux me”. BCW is some big chief of some tribe.

Loony Zoony: Hello chief, glad you and your granddaughter can join us here today. *smiles*

Big Chief WanaKissALot: That is Big Chief WanaKissALot to you, woman! *glares*

LZ: Huh? Oh, err…okay…sorry *smile falters*

BCW: And this is daughter of my son, Pockahonta

LZ: Your son’s name is Pockahonta?

BCW: Are you bimbo? Her name Pockahonta, not son! *glares again*

LZ: Oh, sorry. *confused* Does it have anything to do with Pocahontas (romantic images of Englishman from beyond the seas running in her mind), the Disney movie? *stares dreamily away*

BCW: What?! No.

BCW: Her name from grandmother, Pokka Honda. Grandmother love coffee and cars. *stares away, reminiscing*

LZ: I see…How interesting.

Pockahonta: Hello! *smiles*

LZ: So anyway, I’m glad you can make it all the way here. I was told you took the land route from Europe to here after you landed by ship in Europe.

BCW: Yes. But us Indian braves are used to walking. We walked on land and even climb that big mountain range near Nepal. *proudly nods*

BCW: That…that big and tall mountain range…not know name.

LZ: Himalaya?

Pockahonta: No, him tell truth!! *shakes head*

BCW: Anyway, glad we finally reach your land. Glad to see you have many tribes here too. Much like ours. *nods in satisfaction*

LZ: Yes, we are very multiracial here. No racial conflicts. We are even friendly with our former colonial masters.

BCW: Well, we not like our colonial masters. My great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather and his great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather before him once told the palefaces many many moons before after we lost our lands to the palefaces, “one day, we coloured people shall rule this fair land again.”

BCW: But the palefaces laughed and spat in our faces. *resentment on his face*

BCW: And yet what was once foretold by our forefathers is now true for the great land of America is now or will now be ruled by one of the coloured people. He is called OBAMA! *gleefully claps his hands*

LZ: Wow…*amazed*

*Pockahonta nods vigorously in agreement*

LZ: *ahem* *clears throat* Well, that certainly is a very interesting talk, Big Chief WanaKissALot. I thank you for your time, is there anything else you would like to say to the people out there? Miss Pockahonta?

BCW: Yes! You palefaces out there! We will rule this fair land again! And we shall show you! Harrumph! *glares smugly at the camera*

Pockahonta: Grandfather is great! *looks at BCW adoringly*

LZ: Alright. Once again, I thank you both for your time, and your willingness to share such a wonderful story with the world. I hope one day you will come back and share with us another piece of history. *smiles* *looks at watch*

LZ: Oops! Times up! So see you all some day soon, when we manage to get another special guest. Maybe this time he’ll come from the far east of Sahara Desert! Til then, folks! *waves madly*

*BCW and Pockahonta doing their ritual red Indian dance, with their strange chants and movements*

*Pockahonta attempting to start a fire with furniture*

LZ: Ahhh! NO, NO! Miss Pockahonta, NO! You can’t do that! *tries to pull Pockahonta away*

Pockahonta: Why? Ritual dance must have fire. *tries to break free from LZ’s grasp*

LZ: Stop the recording! Cut! Cut! Miss Pockahonta, no! *pants, trying to pull back Pockahonta*

BCW: Shut up, women! Ritual dance no noise!! *hollers*

*zaps* *screen blanks out*

Hope you guys had a good laugh. Hehe. Forgive me if you find it not worth your time, but life’s too short for us to be always stressed.

Cheers.

Konsert Jelajah Koir Kebangsaan 2008 Pt. 1

The long awaited story is about to begin! After procrastinating for so long, I’ve decided to post up ‘The Adventures of Princess Zoonie’ (as quoted from Grandpa Daryl) seeing that I may not be active in Choir after some time next year. Pictures may say a thousand words but you may not know exactly what is happening, so…there will be stories behind each picture. :)

Now, let’s begin!

30th October 2008

The day we move from KL to Kelantan – our first stop. It was to be a long journey. We were to meet at Istana Budaya at about 1.30-2.00pm. So that morning, once I was satisfied with my packing, I asked my dad to drop me at Ampang Point. I had a checklist of what to buy and I slowly worked my way through the list. Shopping done, I had my mom picked me on the way home from work. Packed, got ready, rushed out. After loads of dawdling, we finally took off at about…3.30pm. Of course, it was a really long journey, we reached Kelantan at about 1AM. (If my memory’s not failing me) We were placed at Pantai Cahaya Bulan Resort. It was really late by then. We were assigned a chalet each pair. So me and my roomie, dragged our luggage and made our way to the chalet. To our horror, the “bathroom” for our chalet was…inhabitable!! It was old! And it was like some jungle hole! Seriously, if anyone is to shoot a horror film, the toilet would’ve made a great scene. I can already imagine the scary figure hanging upside down from the ceiling, scaring the wits off the unfortunate person in the horror toilet. *shudders* (Thank God, nothing happened to me, for I bathed the minute we reached. I needed one!) So it was sleep, and the next day, we woke up early, had breakfast, and went for rehearsal. The venue of our concert was ok. Not very large, but it was ok. Ooooh! It was Kak Marina’s birthday too! Great chocolate cake! :D ! So then, comes the concert.

Glitches here and there happened during the concert. Early in the concert, we had a miscommunication with our conductor. Our next song was Adai Adai, where we would have to sit. The next song after that would be another song with movements. So when our conductor cued us, half of us, started to sit, the other half turned and made the movement for the other song. I swear, it was embarrassing and almost hilarious, but at that point, we were scared to bits to even laugh. So, yada yada yada, the show’s over. It was generally good, not the best, but good. Then we went for supper. I thought we were going to have this Kelantan specialty, I don’t know how you spell it, but it’s really good. The specialty dish I mean. I had it in Iman’s place during Raya, and man, it was good! So my friend told me it was the specialty served, but I wasn’t so sure. Probably just an imitation of the dish. Apparently, it’s difficult and expensive to make. I’ll probably dedicate an entire post one day, about the dish. That’s if I find anything to post. Anyway, right after supper, we went to this night market. It was really late by then, almost 1 plus AM and some shops were closing already. We walked around, ‘window-shopped’ a little, and I bought myself a pair of slippers! I had wanted this pair – when you put them together, side by side, the pattern forms a lady bug! – but it doesn’t have my size. (I never really knew slippers come in sizes! *gasps*) Anyway, after getting tired of walking, we went to some mamak, and then back to the bus. It had been a really long day. And night.

1st November 2008

Oh, did you know that the resort we are staying at is just right next to the beach? Well, the beach ain’t pretty. But it’s been almost forever since I’ve been to the beach, so I was only thankful to be able to look out at the horizon over the sea. It was a great calming effect. Before we took off to our volunteer programme, we all cam-whored! In every tour trip, it is sort of…mandatory for us choir-ians to do some volunteer work. Not that we mind. I certainly don’t mind. He he. So, our volunteer today was to go visit a hospital. UKM in Kelantan. We were brought to the children’s ward, to the cancer patients. Most of them are really small. L There was one who’s about 20 years old, but he looked like he’s 14. The saddest one of all was a baby (I can’t remember if it’s a she or he), placed in a special room, with all sorts of needles poking into her. She/he has lung problems and currently I think she’s hooked up on some machine to help him/her breathe. He/she’s so tiny!!  After we were done, we were off to lunch. At Four Seasons Restaurant! Cool! So it was…Chinese cuisine!  The kerabu was great! YummY! After lunch, we went back to the resort, packed in like…15 minutes and then off we go! To sightseeing. We went to another market, a famous one, it seems, near The Grand Palace. It was HUGE! There are SO many things! From there I bought 4 caftans! Pretty too! And some dodol, for my mom. I think I got like…1 kg?? Or was it ½ kg? Can’t remember now, it was only RM4! So much, and it was good too. I also got a fan, cause it was so hot! Yada yada yada, shop shop shop, it was time to head off to the bus. You think the journey ends here? HAH! You are WRONG! The journey was just about to begin!  WE were not going to head back home. WE were going to go to PERLIS!

And so, the journey continued. At first the bus ride was pretty smooth. However, nearing dusk…I felt…strange. It felt like…car-sick! It was weird, because I’ve never had any problems with cars, or reading in cars or anything like that. I started feeling sick to my stomach, and nauseous. And the headache…gosh, it was the weirdest feeling ever! I thought I was the only one. But when I look across to my right, I saw the same expression on Chee Kan’s face! Hahaha! He was having the symptoms too! He looked just as sick. The road was getting windy, and everyone in the bus was getting sick too. The bus then stopped, and a few of us rushed down the bus and most of them threw up. I didn’t get to, though. I felt like it, but I couldn’t. We had to endure a little more of the crazy bus ride, and finally stopped for dinner. We reached the hotel in Perlis at about 2AM. Thank goodness, the room wasn’t so bad. It was pretty ok. I mean, it’s a hotel! It was definitely much better than Kelantan.

2nd November 2008

Concert day! Unfortunately, tonight’s concert wasn’t that great. We lacked energy, and the power. We were pretty disappointed too. Sigh. Nothing we could do but to look forward to the next concert. However, we got a seafood supper treat from the VIP who attended the concert. He brought us to some dodgy looking mamak stall or some sort, which serves seafood, and we just ate. Well, I didn’t eat a lot, but, there were some interesting “delicacies” that I’ve tried. Look at the pictures below, there’s one with Cik Syafinaz holding the interesting – looking clam or some sort.

3rd November 2008

Again, as usual, volunteer work. We went to this special local school in Perlis, which caters for normal students and special students. They allocated kids who have problems, such as autism, Down syndrome’s, and such. We had fun, the students even performed something for us! Will show you the video, in a bit. :D ! Haha, most of us became famous too! Kids were lining up asking for autographs! So cute! Then, it was HOME! But before that, we stopped at Gua Kelam! Beautiful err…what’s gua in English??)…AH! CAVE! Beautiful cave! :D ! I’ll show you the pictures, you’ll be the judge. I mean, it’s been quite a while since I went into a cave. The last time was…when I was in…Tekam? Ah, sweet memories. Alright, let’s not get distracted now. So after that, it was really home. Another long journey to endure. We reached KL at about midnight or so.

Now…

Let the pictures tell the story! Hehe.

Oh and by the way, I published this post at work, so there are more pictures to come, I don’t have it with me, and I can only post the pictures up at home tonight. Pray you stay patient. J I’m sorry, I know this post is extremely long and without pictures, it can be boring. So, do forgive me this once, and let me upload the pictures tonight. :D

Cheers.

I wonder what this is…

Hello there. I’m just curious about this QuickPress thing. So I’m just typing nonsense in here just to see what it does. Gosh, I’m so random. So what exactly does it do? Hmm. Time to find out! *clicks on ‘Publish’*

Happy Birthday, Iman!

Oh and by the way,

Happy Birthday, Iman dearest! :D ! I KNOW you’ll have a blast! And a big surprise… ;-) Hahaha!

And also,

for tomorrow, since I won’t be here to wish anyone through the web…

Happy Birthday to my dearest Kak Nik, and also to my dearest Cik Sri Devi. May you both have a blast! :D !

Love you all.

Happy Bizzare Logic Season!

Well, today’s NOT exactly Bizzare Logic Day, its probably on the day I posted up the Chronicles. Can’t remember now. You must be wondering what on EARTH is Bizarre Logic Day. The three words said it all! Whatever that is BIZZARE…and LOGICAL…would be a great contribution for the aforementioned occasion! Hahaha! Right now, I can’t think of anything bizzare yet logical, though I am sure I can poke my Granpa Daryl to come up with something…again. hee hee. The last time he did, I totally forgot to save it! But since I had changed Bizzare Logic Day to Bizzare Logic Season…I’ll be posting things up as I see fit.

I’ll be leaving to Johor tonight. Another choir tour performance there. The last one for us seniors (minus the Konsort). Hopefully we’ll all reach there and come back in one piece. *prays* We’ll be performing at the RTM in Johor. We’ve been told that the accoustic is not good there. Ugh. Darn. Means more work for the tummy and the little voicebox in our throats. Hahaha. Hmm…I’m already thinking of Johor Laksa and other Johor specialities. Oh dear. I better go revise my checklist, see if I’ve forgotten anything!

Will update you when I return from Johor.

Til then!

Cheers.

Plagued.

I am at work.

And I am PLAGUED with slight food poisoning.

And I suspect it might be the lamb chop I had in Sg.Long Club House. Oh man. *groans* :-(

I feel like throwing up. But I get hungry. And when I eat, I’ll feel like throwing up after. Even now, I still feel like that. Darn. I don’t like this. Not one bit.

I hope I’m not getting Salmonella. That’d be scarryyyyy. Especially when you’ve done research on Salmonella and presented it right in front of class. Ahhh! I don’t want to get infected with whatever stomach flu!!! I want my healthy stomach backkk!! WahhhHH! *cries*

Mom thinks I should visit a doctor. But I have no time! After this, I have a class at 5.45 pm til 7.45pm. Then right after that, I have choir from 8pm til (god knows) maybe 10.30-11pm. Then, its home, and what can I do after midnight? Maybe clean my room a little, and get ready for the next day. What a routine. Now I can’t wait for the holidays! Whee!

I shall update all of you when I come back from choir, or something. Or maybe tomorrow. Ah!

Cheers.

P.S. Any more contributors for The Chronicles of a Dull Boy and a Bimbo? Lol.

The Chronicles of a Dull Boy and a Bimbo.

Greetings, my fellow friends.

I am going to start on a silly project, one “inspired” by my ‘Granpa Daryl’, who has been the source of imagination, light of my life, the ol’ and wise who would keep my spirits high throughout the day, through rain or shine.

The title of this project is (as above): The Chronicles of a Dull Boy and a Bimbo.

In this project, we shall name the Dull Boy as *Jack and the Bimbo as *Jill.

This is a love story between Jack and Jill.

Jack is a Dull Boy, because he discusses serious issues, despite his young age. Many finds him weird and strange because of his seriousness. He’s matured way beyond his years.

Jill, a Bimbo, is…well…a Bimbo. (Granpa Daryl, I’ll never forgive you for this!!)

What I need YOU (yes, you there, reading this) to do… is to complete this chronicle for me. You can come up with all sorts of conversations, ideas, stories, qoutes, etc. ANYTHING! Just to spice this Chronicle up. Once I’ve decided that we are done, I shall post up the creativeness of how this Chronicle is created. This might be the silliest thing you’ve ever done, and there really isn’t a point in this somehow, but the motive is just to perk you bored people up,(yes, you are bored, because if you are not, you won’t be reading my blog at this very moment, hah!) and add some laughter in this blog of mine. It’s been some time since I feel laughter and exuberance emitting from my blog.

Anyway, I’m going to start the opening quote for the Chronicle first, thanks to Gramps, he came up with this brilliant excerpt:

Jack: You know, it’s really nice to know you. especially since when INTEREST RATES go up, the economy will start to CONTRACT but seeing your smile makes my day!

Jill: Yes, everybody tells me of their INTEREST in me but i RATE them all the same…borrriiinnngggg. And talking about CONTRACTs, I think I will sign up for that new Digi promo with free sms

Jack: Er…yeah…I think. Let’s go out together.

Jill: Aren’t we already out now, you moron?

…excerpt of conversation between Jack and Jill the first time they met (from The Chronicles of Jack & Jill).

Hahaha! (I have a feeling only I alone, am laughing to this)…Oh well, this is one of the latest invention, feel free to drop in your own ideas.

P.S. Foul, obscene, raunchy and any other ideas which I deem inappropriate shall be deleted without a second thought. HAH!

Quoting my dear Gramps, “Let the creative juices flow!”

Cheers. :)
